Copyright stays with the photographer
Unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, photographs by Mike are copyrighted by Mike and Art of the Shutter. Purchasing photography services, receiving a gallery, or viewing an image online does not transfer copyright.
Portfolio images
Images displayed on this public website are provided for viewing. You may share a link to the page, but you may not copy, download, screenshot, reproduce, publish, sell, remove attribution or watermarks, create derivative products, or use the images for machine-learning or artificial-intelligence training without prior written permission.
Personal client use
Portrait and event clients receive the personal-use permissions stated in their agreement. Those permissions may allow personal printing and sharing with friends or family, but they do not automatically include advertising, promotion, publication, resale, contests, stock use, or use by a business or organization.
Commercial and editorial licenses
Commercial and editorial work is licensed for the uses identified in the written quote or agreement. A license may define the permitted media, channels, audience, geography, duration, placement, exclusivity, and number of images. Any use beyond that scope requires an expanded license in writing.
Edits, credit, and context
Do not apply filters, heavy retouching, compositing, or other changes that materially alter a licensed photograph unless the agreement permits them. Reasonable layout cropping may be discussed for a specific use. Credit requirements, when applicable, are stated in the license. A photograph of a person or private property does not by itself grant permission to use that person’s likeness or property endorsement commercially.
